Our story
Bizim Lösemili Çocuklar Vakfı began its work in 1980 and became a foundation in 1983. The bone marrow transplantation unit established on 26 October 1989 took its place in history as the country's first paediatric transplantation unit, and that same year the foundation became the first to perform a bone marrow transplant on a child. The foundation was also the founding body of Haliç University, established in 1998.

Early diagnosis saves livesAlso known as blood cancer, leukemia is a cancer that starts in blood-forming tissue such as the bone marrow and blocks the body's ability to fight infection.
It describes a state in which young, abnormal blood cells that never complete the maturation process multiply rapidly. Onset is often sudden and fast, with clinical signs appearing within one to two months. A diagnosis therefore has to be made quickly and treatment started as soon as possible.

Together with volunteers from Haliç University we visited children being treated at Sarıyer Hamidiye Etfal Hospital, sang songs with them and handed over the gifts we had prepared.
